Runabout Lost
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 28. A Petone man, Mr M. L. Martin, and his dog jumped into the sea when his £2OOO jet-powered runabout burst into flames off the Makaroa coast yesterday. He and three companions, who were skin-diving, were picked up by another craft and watched helplessly from the shore as the two months’ old boat burned to the waterline and sank. The craft was insured.
