Port Labour Short
Labour was short on the Lyttelton waterfront yesterday, An additional 192 men (14 gangs) were required when work began at 7 a.m. Vessels idle initially were the Awanui and Limerick, while the Konini was short-manned. A total of 622 men was engaged plus 58 non-unionists and 15 crew members.
