India was negotiating to buy an extra 150,000 tons of Australian wheat, worth about 10 million dollars at world prices, it was announced today. The Indian High Commissioner, Mr D. N. Chatterjee, said the price had yet to be determined. Australia has already given 100,000 tons of wheat to India as a gift. Delivery of this is expected to begin within a fortnight.

U.S. Economy. United States foreign exchange holdings declined sharply last month, in spite of a heavy inflow of gold, the Government reported. The January foreign exchange loss amounted to 137 million dollars, the largest in seven months.— Washington, February 28.
