Rhodesian Tobacco
(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, Feb. 28. A quantity of Rhodesian tobacco is included in the cargo which will be discharged by the Dutch freighter Straatmalakka when she berths at the port of Napier. The ship is anchored in the roadstead.
The managing-director of Rothmans, Ltd., Mr B. W. Lindeman, said today that the shipment was “the final normal shipment before the imposition of sanctions in Rhodesia.” The tobacco left Rhodesia before the sanctions on cargoes to New Zealand were implemented in December, 1965, Mr Lindeman said.
