Age Benefit
' Sir, —Does “Far Back Dan" forget it was Michael Joseph Savage, a highly respected Labour Prime Minister, who first introduced social security and also the Reserve Bank? Even Russia saw fit to follow his example on social security. By the trend of “Far Back Dan’s” letter he must be over 80 and inclined to forget. But a nationalist’s ideas are hard to change at any time. However, his reply to “Old-timer” misses the point of the age benefit restriction. —Yours, etc., WAYLEGGO. February 9, 1966.
Miss H. M. Thompson was yesterday admitted by Mr Justice Wilson as a barrister of the Supreme Court, on the motion of her father, Mr R. P. Thompson.
