No Dairy Pay-Out

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Feb. 9. The fact that there would be no end-of-season payment to dairy companies from the marketing account as the Dairy Board had nothing to do with the present butter negotiations in London, said Mr F. L. Onion, deputy chairman of the board. “It simply means there has been no trading profit in the dairy board’s account, but this does not affect the pay-out by individual companies,” he said. Last year the dairy marketing account paid out Id per lb end-of-season payment. The season before it was 1.5 d and in the 1959-60 season it was 4.4 d a pound of butterfat.
