MOHI RETURNS TO MARIST
The 1965 New Zealand Rugby League trialist, M. H. Mohi, will transfer back to Marist this season. Mohi last year moved to Papanui after five seasons with Marist.
Mohi made a belated attempt to secure a place in the 1965 Kiwi team that toured Britain and France. A grand performance in the final trial at Greymouth nearly gained him selection and he was rather unfortunate not to be included. Since 1960 he has played 22 matches for Canterbury as a second row forward or prop. He has also played in three inter-island matches and for the South Island against South Africa. Mohi attended the 1961 and 1963 national coaching schools. Two prominent club players will also transfer to Marist this season. They are the bustling Linwood wing, R. M. Tawhai, and the promising Papanui forward, B. Lawrence.
It is expected that the three players will have to miss the first four club matches under the transfer law introduced by the Canterbury Rugby League last year.
