Formidable Team

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY.

New South Wales will field its most formidable team of the season against the M.C.C. on Friday—providing the current season’s story of injury or illness is not continued. Whenever a New South Wales or Australian test team has been chosen this season, at least one leading player has withdrawn for reasons ranging from broken toes to chickenpox.

The state team will be: R. Simpson (captain), B. Booth (vice-captain), G. Corling, J. Martin, N. C. N. O’Neill, P. Philpott, D. Renneberg, B. Rothwell, B Taber, G. Thomas, D. Walters. 12th man: G. Davies. New South Wales will be anxious to redeem itself as the nine wickets defeat by the M.C.C. last November was' the first loss for the state side against the Englishmen since 1932
