Quiet Sun Era Ends
(N.Z P A.-Reuter—Copyright > NEW YORK, Jan. 31. The earth is moving through a solar storm which has “winds” of 1,440,000 miles an hour, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration reported yesterday. The storm appears to signal the end of the quiet solar period and the beginning of a climb toward peak sunspot activity in 1969, the agency said.
