High Country Lambs
This season the Grampians station in the Mackenzie Country sent 2000 lambs to the works before Christmas. Mr R. M. McNeilly, the station manager, said last week that these lambs, which were nine weeks old, had averaged about 281 b and represented about two-thirds of the lambs from fat lamb sires. Almost 1900 of the lambs were graded as primes. Three thousand lambs were marked from 2400 halfbred' ewes put to South Dorset and Southdown lambs this season. Tlie station of 47,500 acres carries 14,000 sheep and about 1000 head of cattle, including calves.
