Orbiter Sale Completed
Orbiter will be driven by his former owner-trainer, W. L. Bagrie, in the first heat of the Dunedin Festival Cup at Forbury Park tonight, but will race in the interests of a New York syndicate which has paid more than 100,000 dollars for the champion pacer. Mr N. Simpson, of Auckland, who has acted for the syndicate, flew to Christchurch on Thursday morning to make the final payment for Orbiter. Mr Simpson, who returned to Auckland yesterday, will be in Dunedin tomorrow to see the horse race. Mr Bagrie said he had received instructions to continue the horse’s programme. No definite arrangements had been made to send Orbiter to the United States, but probably he would be flown there in March.
