Airman Killed
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 28. An airman was killed at the Royal New Zealand Air Force base at Whenuapai last night when he was pinned under a wheel of a taxi-ing plane. He was Leading Aircraftman Douglas Graham Haggard, aged 22, who jumped from a Bristol Freighter as it was taxi-ing, with the assistance of a towing vehicle, towards a hanger at the station. He is thought to have stumbled in front of the wheel.
