Star Dismissed In A Twinkling
TN one of the most amazing A collapses in years, the leading team in the Ashburton County Cricket Association’s senior competition. Star, was dismissed by the bottom team of the competition, Methven, for only 17 runs recently. Throughout most of the last day, Star looked set for an easy outright victory after making Methven follow on in its second innings, 136 runs behind the Star first innings score of 262 for four
declared. Methven in its second innings made 253 and Star was left 110 minutes to score 117 runs. However, within 30 minutes, Star was all out for 17 runs, C. Johnstone (Methven) taking seven wickets for seven runs. Earlier in the season. Star dismissed one of the leading teams in the competition, Old Boys, for 12 runs, but on that occasion, the Old Boys team was batting with two men short
