Hit Hangar At Speed
K. Monk’s near-new Mini Cooper S was wrecked when it tore into the wall of a hangar at high speed at Wigratn on urdayIn a race for modified saloons Monk had skid-
ded on the wet track when braking to avoid another ear. The Mini mounted some bales and then plunged into the hangar wall, scattering wooden studs and sheets of corrugated iron.
Monk, a Christchurch driver was unhurt. The left front wheel of the car was pushed back under the passenger’s door and damage extended half-way along the roof.
