Hammer Too Light
(N.Z. Preaa Association) AUCKLAND. The New Zealand junior hammer throw record set by M. S. Cheater at the new Mt. Smart Stadium on Wednesday night has been disdisallowed. Cheater’s throw of 186 ft lOJin raised the record by five inches but his implement was 2oz too light The error was discovered yesterday when his father, the president of the Auckland Athletic Centre, Mr R. W. Cheater, weighed the hammer on laboratory scales.
