FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation. —Pressures are high to the east of New Zealand, while an almost stationary depression covers the Tasman Sea. Forecast: All districts.—Fresh south-easterlies in the western parts of Cook Strait, winds otherwise moderate and variable, with north-easterlies freshening at times in exposed coastal areas; overcast and mild,'with occasional rain, mainly light, but some scattered thunder showers about the ranges; some fog areas about the coasts.
