Pigeon Deserts Ship
| (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright/ LONDON, January 6. I Globetrotting Beatrice, who, |as crew member 001 on a I Norwegian cargo ship, became [the first pigeon licensed to go to sea, has deserted. When the 3600-ton Norwegian vessel Bruno docked in London yesterday, the chief steward. Mr Ingar Heierdahl, reported that she had jumped ship a few miles from Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.
