Magistrate’s Court Fined £15 For Using Obscene Language
Leo John Paviell, aged 48. a carpenter, pleaded guilty to a charge of using obscene language in St. Asaph street on January 4 when he appeared in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Messrs W. H. Small and J. C. Cottrell, Justices of the Peace. Paviell was fined £l5. REMANDED Peter Joseph Kerwin, aged 37, a scaffolding workman, was remanded on bail till January 7 when he appeared on charges of using obscene language on January 4 and of [disorderly behaviour on the same date.
Jim Tuhikarama, aged 25. a metal moulder, was remanded in custody till January 7 when he appeared on a charge of being a rogue and vagabond on January 4. Michael Paul Stone, aged 20, a clerk, was remanded in custody till January 12 when he appeared on a charge of breaking and entering premises at 137 Tennyson street on or about January 2. Anzac Robert Williams, aged 22, a workman, was remanded in custody till January 7 when he appeared on a charge of forging a Post Office Savings Bank deposit slip on November 3. Leo Patrick Coffey, aged 58, a barman, (Mr S. G. Erber) was remanded on bail till till January 20 when he appeared on a charge of bookmaking on January 4.
Margaret Frances Tipa, aged 19, a housekeeper, was remanded on bail till January 12 when she appeared on a charge of breaking and entering 139 Antigua street on December 31. Brian Maurice McAuliffe, aged 20. a factory worker, was remanded on bail till January 20 when he appeared on a charge of theft of money totalling £6 10s on November 13.
