Obituary MRS H. D. MUIR
CN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 5. Mrs H. D. Muir, a former president of the New Zealand Women’s Basketball Association and widely-known Wellington social worker, died suddenly at her home in Kelburn on Thursday. Mrs Muir was managercoach in 1938 of the first allNew Zealand basketball team to tour Australia. She was president of the New Zealand association from 1932-1949 and was a life member of both the New Zealand and Canterbury Basketball Associations.
For the last 16 years, Mrs Muir has been secretarymanager of the Smith Family welfare organisation and the Wellington Mayor’s Metropolitan Relief Committee. She is survived by her husband, Mr Harold Muir, of the New Zealand Press Association, and a daughter, Mrs Craig Roberton, of Wanganui.
