BEL AIR FASTEST
Peter Knight, commodore of the New Brighton Power Boat Club, won the £4OO Rothmans race for 100 cu in hydroplanes on Lake Karapiro. Knight was driving his Fiat-powered hydroplane, Bel Air, in which he holds an Australasian record at 91 miles an hour. He won £l5O for heading a good field home.
W. Stokes, in Voodoo 111, was second in the Rothmans race. He is also a member of the New Brighton club.
The Rothmans race will be staged by the New Brighton club next year. At Lake Rotoiti. Anita (P. Colvert), of the New Brighton club, won the major vbottom championship race.
