“Quite Good”
Apart from Monday, when shocking risks had been taken in heavy traffic on the Main South road, the standard of driving in areas lying out of Christchurch had been quite good during the holiday period. Senior Traffic Officer W. Sterritt, of the Transport Department, said yesterday. Possibly the toll of road deaths was having some effect on drivers, he said. “People are starting to realise it could be their turn next.”
