B Team Well Placed
In the second game of its three-match tour, against Motueka yesterday, Canterbury B dismissed the opposition for 193 and had scored 40 without loss at stumps. After rain had delayed th? start until 1 p.m., the feature of the day's play was the wellcompiled century scored by D. Burrows against muchimproved Canterbury bowling and fielding. For the visitors, J. H. M. Dawson captured three for 30 from 19 overs and J. W. Burtt, turning his leg-spinners sharply, took three for 48. In the 35 minutes remaining until stumps, J. A. Mills and J. R. Veitch batted confidently and attractively.
A. Harrison achieved an unexpected bowling success for Canterbury by taking two wickets for no runs in his one over.
