First Race Postponed
The north-westerly gale and an adverse weather report brought the postponement of the first race of the New Zealand open Catamaran championships for the Kay Daniels Trophy at Lyttelton yesterday. This race will be resailed on Friday. While many skippers and crews were not prepared to risk damage to new boats, there were some who were . prepared to race regardless of the conditions. The fleet comprises eight i Shearwater catamarans, five ■ Yachting Worlds, three Bikinis, four A class and one B class. The second race of the open championship series will be sailed this morning.
