AWARD OF BURSARY
Traffic Control And Planning
A bursary In traffic planning and control has been awarded by the New Zealand Road Federation to Mr E. J. Burt, highways engineer in Dunedin for the Ministry of Works. The bursary, sponsored by Shell Oil, New Zealand, Ltdentitles the holder to a three months’ course of post-gradu-ate study at the School of Traffic Engineering, University of New South Wales, and provides for all fees, boarding allowance, and air travel. Announcing the award, the president of the New Zealand Road Federation (Mr C. F. McKinney) said that since 1960 similar bursaries had enabled 13 engineers from New Zealand to undertake these studies in traffic engineering. The bursaries were introduced by the company to provide special' training for professional staff who are responsible for road and traf-i fic planning.
