Runabout Safe
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, Dec. 27. A 19-foot runabout with Mr and Mrs M. Williams and their two daughters, of Kenmure avenue, Castor Bay, aboard was today found tied up at Islington Bay, Waiheke. Six police and coastguard craft spent most of yesterday searching the Hauraki Gulf for the runabout after the Williams failed to reach Matiatia, its reported destination, on Saturday. Mr Williams told the coastguard he had engine trouble.
He pulled in to Islington Bay and did not think to notify anybody of his change of plans. He did not hear radio calls made for him.
