Vietnam-Style War Call By China

TOKYO, Dec. 23.

China called on the “oppressed people of the world” today to begin Vietnam-style wars

against the United States “and its lackeys.”

It said five years of Viet Cong victories in South Vietnam had proved that “people’s wars” could be successful anywhere. The Chinese invitation to Communists and their sympathisers to create new areas of conflict in other parts of the globe was contained in an editorial note of the official Peking “People’s Daily.” Carried as an introduction to the communique of the National Liberation Front on the Viet Cong’s fifth anniversary, it said: “All the oppressed nations and people of the world can draw inspiration from the brilliant victories of the South

Vietnamese people and learn to use people’s war to deal with U.S. imperialism and its

lackeys. Those without arms can take up arms, those who do not know how to fight the war can master it. The oppressed people of the world

will undoubtedly be able to do what the South Vietnamese people have done.” It continued: “U.S. imperialism can be defeated. People’s war is the most effective talisman in dealing with U.S. imperialism and its lackeys. This inviolable truth is borne out forcefully and vividly in the communique on the achievements in the struggle since the founding of the South Vietnam National Front for Liberation five years ago.”
