105th Birthday
Ashburton’s oldest resident, Mrs E. Gilmour, of 76 Oxford street, was 105 on Saturday. She celebrated her birthday with her daughter and 17 other members of her family, receiving many cards, telegrams, telephone messages and flowers. Mrs Gilmour has taken an active interest in community affairs, especially as a member of the Red Cross Society. She is a foundation member of the British Sailors’ Society and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
