Communists Lose Control (N.Z. Preu Aesn. —Copvriuhtz MELBOURNE, Dec. 19. Communists have lost their hold on the 5000-strong Melbourne branch of the Waterside Workers’ Federation. Control of the Melbourne waterfront was at stake in Thursday's election to fill the branch executive’s four top posts. Progress voting results indicate that a team of Australian Labour Party waters aiders, supported by the federation’s general secretary (Mr C. H. Fitzgibbon) have had « “landslide” victory.
