Married For 50 Years
Mr and Mrs E. J. Tucker, of 60 Moore street, Ashburton, celebrated their golden wedding yesterday. They were married in the Baptist Church, Peter street, Ashburton, by the Rev. F. Olderivey, on December 20,1915, the day of the evacuation of Gallipoli. Both Mr and Mrs Tucker were born in Ashburton and have lived there all of their lives. Mr Tucker, aged 85, is the son of Mr Joss Tucker, who founded the Ashburton firm, Tuckers, Ltd.
The couple have two sons and two daughters. One son, Mr C. Tucker, is the superin-tendent-ln-chief of Wellington Hospital.
