Quadruplets To Surgeon’s Wife

AUCKLAND, Dec. 20.

Quadruplets—-two girls, two boys—were born tonight at the National Women’s Hospital, Epsom, to Mr and Mrs H. D. Rawson, of Nelson.

The babies were rushed to the special care premature unit in the hospital immediately after they were born between 6 p.m. and 6.11 pan. The medical superintendent of the hospital. Dr. R. A Warren, said last night that the medical consultants were “a little concerned at the condition of the four.”

Mrs Sally Rawson, aged 29, the wife of a surgeon who is on the staff of the Nelson Hospital and also has a private practice, came to Auckland recently to be close to expert pediatric cere. Up to a week ago it was thought that Mrs Rawson would have twins. It was not until a final X-ray was taken that the quadruplets were revealed. The first boy weighed 21b ]4ox, the girts both Sib 6oz. and the youngest boy 21b 13os. No names had been chosen for the quadruplets, eaid Mr Rawson tonight.
