English Channel Ferry Service
fSperial Crapdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, December 19. General Steam Navigation a subsidiary of the P. nd O. group, has announced joint plans with a Paris company for a new £4m drive-on car ferry service between Southampton and Le Havre—a route British Railways last year abandoned as “uneconomic.” The new service, to begin in 1967, will be operated by two new French-built ferries, each carrying 700 passengers and more than 250 cams.
