Indian Birth Rate Down
fN.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copvripht) NEW DELHI. Dec. 19. India’s birth-rate has begun to decline in gome areas after the introduction of birth control. The Health Minister (Mr Sushila Nayar) says the birth rate has declined to 28 a 1000 in Bombay where there has been a family planning programme for several years. The rate for the rest of the country is 41 a 1000—an average of 18m babies a year for all India.
