MOSCOW VISIT
Boumedienne Home (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright? ALGIERS, Dec. 19. President Houari Boumedienne returned home last night after a shortened fiveday visit to the Soviet Union which he summarised on arrival as “fruitful and useful,” the “New York Times” news service reported. American diplomats expressed surprise and regret at President Boumedienne's stand on international issues in Moscow. They regarded his openly pro-Soviet comments on Vietnam and the Dominican Republic as not in keeping with Algeria's declared policy of non-alignment. Some Eastern diplomats were equally surprised by the extent to which President Boumedienne seemed to have espoused Moscow’s cause in the Chinese-Soviet dispute.
