Discovering Dickens
CO many children in Britain ° and in America are given Dickens to read when they are much too young—at 10 and 11. He didn’t write for children. When I played a lot of campuses, a lot of university auditoriums, in the United States there were wonderful audiences of young people. There were teen-agers who were discovering Dickens for the first time.—Emlyn Williams in a 8.8. C. programme.
