EATEN BY RATS

Heathcote Records Rats in the Heathcoate County Council’s substation in Barrington street were eating old records, said Cr. L. L. Smith at the council’s monthly meeting. “To have rats in a substation is not in any way to be recommended,” he said. Council records, along with hardware and election equipment, were stored in the substation.

Cr. E. L. Tyndall said he thought the works committee should give the matter serious consideration, with the idea of finding an alternative place to store the records.

The county chairman (Mr C. D. Le Comte) suggested building a mezzanine floor for the storage of records. The question of alternative storage space will be considered.
