Great Adios’s Great Rim . "Th« Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. Great Adios clocked 3mln Ssec in a workout over a mile and a half at Alexandra Park yesterday. It is believed to be the fastest mile and a half done at the park since the five-furlong limestone track was built about five years ago. Driven by his trainer. R. P. Norton, Great Adios cut out the first half-mile in Imin 5 4-ssec. He reached the mile in 2min 8 2-ssec and kept going strongly over the last halfmile in 59 3-ssec. The last quarter was reeled off in 29 l-ssec. Tutankhamen (Pemberton) gamely kept with him until about a furlong from the finish. He was about 12 lengths back at the post “With no barrier trials before the Auckland Cup meeting this year, I wanted to give Great Adios a really good run,” said Norton.
