C.F.M. React Sharply To Loss Announcement
Canterbury Frozen Meat reacted sharply to news of the £336,830 loss in die latest year by selling 8s down at 27s in after call sales in Christchurch yesterday. No sales were made elsewhere. New Zealand Refrigerating sold in Christchurch at 13s 9d—unchanged on Monday’s Auckland price—but dropped 3d to 13s 6d in Auckland, while Southland Frozen Meat held steady at 21s. The newly-listed Motor Holdings, placed on the market at 15s, sold at 14s 9d in Christchurch and 14s lOd in Auckland in first business. Over-all the market was again weak, but over a narrow range rises by overseas stocks moved ahead of falls. Colonial Sugar Refining firmed Is 6d to 52s 9d, while Ansett rose 2d to 6s 7d, G. J. Coles 3d to 12s 3d and Broken Hill South 6d to 345. A.C.I. lost Is 6d to 48s 6d.
