Smuggling Admitted
(N.Z. Prtti Attociation) AUCKLAND, Dec. 9. Three attempts by a tamo* men to smuggle a wwteti cost htai £lOB 19e in fime and costa when he ptaaded guilty to three charges of smuggling before Mr C. E. H. Ptodgir, S.M., today. Mr (TV. Hubble said Edward Stag Lee three times tried to bring a wWteh ashore from overeeas ships- On «*h occasion be was caught by Customs officers. He had been convicted on a smuggling charge in October after being caught with 20 watches. Lee spoke a dialect used by Chinese seamen and for this reason was often used by others to obtain goods from ships, add Mr Hubble.
