FAR NORTH CUP
‘Grandmother’s Day’ Planned
Next year’s competition for the Far North Cup, competed for by the 15 branches in the Canterbury North Provincial of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, will be called "Grandmother’s Day.” Cup entries will be arranged in bays and will consist of a knitted hot-water bottle cover and a matching pair of knitted bed socks, a flower arrangement, four pieces of shortbread, and a wrapped gift, of which the wrapping only will be Judged. The executive decided to hold a floral display in the Ranglora branch of the New Zealand Fanners* Co-operative Association, Ltd., in February. The display would also be competitive, as the company had offered prizes. The inter-provincial conference will be held in Rangiora on February 22 next year. Mr M. Irwin, the Dominion president of W.D.F.F, will attend.
A letter of congratulations will be sent to Miss Evelyn Graham, of Wobdend, on her being selected for the International Farm Youth Exchange scholarship, which entitles her to six months in the United States.
