THIS GERMAN TRACTOR, a Holder, is new to New Zealand. With four-wheel drive, it pivots in the middle and has been specially developed for working under difficult soil conditions. It is described as being something between a crawler tractor and a wheeled tractor with about twice a much traction as a wheeled machine. It has differential lock front and rear. It is said to be highly manoeuvrable and particularly suited to small farm, market garden operation or orchards. It has hydraulic four-wheel steering and four-wheel brakes. It is powered by a 20 horsepower two-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine.
