Smothered By Wool
(N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, Nov. 26. An 18-months-old boy was smothered in a shearing shed on the property of Mr G. Kittow, Ruataniwha, seven miles from Waipawa. The child was Tuku Paki, son of Mr and Mrs K. Paki. Mrs Paki, the child’s mother, was working in the shed at the time. The police said today the child appeared to have crawled between two fadges —hinged boards on to which wool is thrown —in the shed. Wool was being thrown toward the fadges from the tables and some of the wool fell on the child and smothered him.
