The Moana Pool consists of a main pool of Olympic dimensions with associated diving and learners’ pools, all heated and covered. It is widely recognised as the finest in the Southern Hemisphere. Applicants should hold high qualifications in swimming and life saving and have had considerable experience teaching swimming. They should also be successful competitive swimming coaches. The appointment will in the first instance be for a term of three years. The commencing salary will be £ll5O per annum. The Poolside Attendant-Professional Coach will have the sole right to professional coaching of competitive swimmers at the pool establishment. For this right, the Council will charge a fee of £lOO per annum for the main pool, plus 7s 6d for each hour the Coach has the learners' pool for his exclusive use.
