Share Market Almost Steady As Week Ends
New Zealand issues were steady and overseas stocks almost in balance as trading closed for the week yesterday. Australian leaders were again easy.
Breweries continued to advance with Dominion at 17s 4d and New Zealand at 13s 3d both up Id. Seabrook Fowlds rose 9d to 20s and Northern Steam 7d to 6s Id. Claude Neon rights at 14s 6d and N.Z. Refining at 30s 9d each fell 9d, while Whitcombe and Tombs lost 4d to 22s 9d ex dividend.
Among Australian gains Boral rose 4d to 19s 4d and B.H.P. rights 3d to 245. Bank of New South Wales and Waltons again lost ground.
