TWO BODIES IDENTIFIED
Evidence At Inquest
Evidence of identification was given by Judith Anne Tucker, a hotel worker employed at the Trans Hotel, Queenstown, when the Christchurch Coroner (Mr A. T. Bell), opened an inquest yesterday into the deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were found in a motel at Shirley Lodge on Wednesday morning. Miss Tucker identified the woman as Gillian Helen Dawkins, aged 23. a waitress, formerly of Gawler River, South Australia. She said the man was also from South Australia. He was John Robert Badger, aged 41, a medica) practitioner, married. of Devonshire street, Walkerville.
She said that she had known Miss Dawkins for about 12 months and had accompanied her to New Zealand from South Australia on August 9 this year. The last time she had seen her was about 5 p.m. on November 14. shortly before Miss Dawkins left the Frankton airstrip, Queenstown, to fly to Christchurch for a holiday. z Miss Tucker said that she had not known Dr. Badger very well. She had last seen him at Murray Bridge Station, near Melbourne, on August 5. Adjourning the inquest sine die, the Coroner said that it would probably be continued early next year.
