“SHOWBOAT” IN LONDON.—The floor-show at a new night club, “Showboat,” which has opened at Lyons’ Strand Cornerhouse, just off Trafalgar Square. The £lOO,OOO theatre-restaurant, which seats 400, aims to bring the Mississippi atmosphere to Britain. Paddle-wheels turn at the side of the stage, and the staff are suitably dressed. Customers can dine, dance, and enjoy a one-hour show for 37s 6d.
