MUFTI CAR PATROLS
A.A. Told Of Incidents The use of plain traffic patrol cars should not be discontinued because of one adverse incident, the council of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) agreed at a meeting this week. The council was discussing a letter from a North Island association which said youths in a car with a hand siren had stopped women in another car at night.
Members did suggest, however. that plain cars could be fitted with an illuminated “flip-up” sign behind the windscreen. This sign could be switched on and moved into position when stopping cars at night.
