TENNIS TRIAL
13-Year-Old In Squads t.X.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. A 13-year-old girl, Marilyn Pryde. of Wellington, is a trialist for the Linton and Wilson Cup junior tennis teams to play in Australia next January.
Eight boys and nine girls have been named in the two squads, named by the council of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association. The trials will take place in Wellington on December 13 and 14.
Canterbury has two trialists. the 17-year-old J. Mitchell, who is currently playing in Australia, and Miss J. Bishop. The squads are:— Linton Cup.—D. Cassidy. B. Fairlie. J. Ross (Auckland): J. Mitchell (Canterbury): 0. Parun (Wellington): K. Woolcott. P, Fyfe (Hutt), G. Elliot (Northland).
Wilson Cup.—J. Bishop (Canterbury): S. Collins (Southland): J. Elliott (Manawatu): Diedre Kerr-Taylor. B Vercoe (Auckland): S. Reid. H Ward (North Shore): A Wiblin, M. Pryde (Wellington).
