Rescued From Fire
<N.Z. Press Association! AUCKLAND, Nov. 23. Factory workers and a neighbour dashed into a smoke-filled house in Ponsonby today to rescue three young children after a mattress caught fire. A 10-months-old baby, Audrey Laughlind, was burned about the legs and treated in Auckland Hospital. Her injuries tore not serious. Her two sisters, Heather, aged three, and Elizabeth, aged five, were rescued unharmed. Their mother, Mrs Freda Laughlind, who was out of the house at the time, suffered shock on hearing of the fire.
