Top Butterfat
Producer
Lincoln D.S. Viola, alias cow No. 38, is the top butterfat producer in the Lincoln College herd. On testing day last month, Viola (for short) created a herd record by producing 7»lb of milk containing 5.2 per cent butterfat For the month she produced 1231 b of butterfl Her effort was remarkable in that the average for the herd was 54!b with an average butterfat content of 3.9 per cent At the end of September 106 cows were producing 480 gallons of milk a day, and for the month the college sold 10.539 gallons of milk. The total for the first nine months of 1965 was 78.598 nallons. compared with 80,288 f the same period last year.
