City Staff Retiring
The City Rate Collector (Mr A. A. Boot), who has been in the employ of the City Council for 49 years and in his present position since 1944, will retire at the end of this month.
The council was also advised last evening that another long-service employee, Mr G. McKenzie, of the treasury, would be retiring in April after completing 42 years.
Mr C. J. Cumberpatch retired recently after more than 40 years’ service with the Municipal Electricity Department.
